Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute holds a strong hand here and it is Sindirana that is preferred to stablemate Shortest Day, with Nimra and Summer's Eve two lively outsiders. The Stoute stable have been in terrific form this week, and that augurs well for the chances of Sindirana who steps into the limelight on her return to action. The daughter of Kalanisi crated a big impression when scoring on her Leicester debut last October but for one reason or another just did not fire when asked to tackle Listed company at Newmarket later that month. The ground was soft that day though, so that may have contributed to her defeat, and judged on recent home work, hopes are high that she can now realise her potential and put herself bang in the Oaks picture. Shortest Day was beaten by Cross Channel when they met at Newmarket last July and is fit from a winning return at Pontefract, but needs to improve again here. Summer's Eve was demoted after opening her account at Folkestone last month, and is open to more improvement, while Nimra was a costly youngster and could yet make a name for herself. Of the rest, Kassiopeia is worth a mention, but this is where Sindirana can stamp her claims.
