In depth

Verdict

Massaro Pape can beat the well handicapped Taranaki, with Undeterred and Danger Zone just a couple more to note. This lady riders' affair that brings to an end a cracking day's racing at the Surrey track can see Luca Cumani's Massaro Pape continue to make up for lost time and add to his Kempton debut win. Partnered today by the trainer's wife Sarah, the four-year-old lines up on a mark of 74 which does not look at all harsh, given that he is by far the most lightly-raced animal here. He showed a good turn of foot at Kempton and a similar effort here should suffice against Taranaki who is well treated on form of old and has threatened to gain his first victory in two years on the odd occasion this term. Undeterred is the old man of the race as a 10-year-old but is capable enough still, while Danger Zone is interesting but might find this trip on the short side. All in all, the one with the most scope is Massaro Pape who can give the Cumani stable yet another winner.
