In depth
Verdict
Parkside Pursuit has gone up 5lbs for his win at Salisbury last time and has more on his plate now so we prefer to side with another in-form sprinter, Firework, who gets the verdict over the frustrating Pants. The last mentioned has threatened to win a handicap off this sort of mark and is impossible to discount but is not the most reliable of performers and is probably best watched. Karaoke King has slipped to an attractive mark and has to be respected along with the likes of A Teen, Xaloc Bay and Jagged, who are all capable but inconsistent performers. However, Firework has won his last two starts and, while they were both in sellers over five furlongs, he looks to be on the upgrade. The step up from the minimum could bring about further improvement in John Akehurst's five-year-old and he looks a sporting bet.
