      Verdict

Mia's Boy doesn't have the greatest record when well-fancied however he is taken to return from a layoff with a win; recent winners Cape Velvet and Count Ceprano make it to the shortlist. The selection returns from a 194 day absence today having changed yards from Peter Chapple-Hyam to Chris Dwyer. A mark of 73 does not look insurmountable given the promise that he has shown to date and he is fancied to oblige from a decent draw. Cape Velvet comes here chasing the hat-trick but both of his wins have come at Wolverhampton and whilst he is undeniably fine fettle, he can still run well despite a 3lb rise in the weights. Count Ceprano won well over seven furlongs at the track last time out and has claims, although this mile trip may give him more to do, whilst at a price Clive Brittain's Best One could go well although he has a bit to find with Count Ceprano. An open race, with preference for Mia's Boy.
