Verdict
Despite the time of year some of the bigger yards still have plenty of maidens to run, due to the fast ground through much of the season and to see the likes of Henry Cecil, Luca Cumani and John Gosden represented in a lowly all-weather maiden suggests these low-grade events will take plenty of winning throughout the winter months. Namaste is clearly one of her yards lesser lights, but this filly, who is out of a Mill Reef mare that won the Oaks Trial here on turf back in 1988 will be worth a small fortune to breed with should she get her head in front. While she has obvious claims we prefer the chance of Remembrance, who has proved he handles this surface and his recent third here was given a boost when the runner-up, Bucks has absolutely bolted up in a maiden at Southwell since. Hoh Viss has struggled in handicaps of late and while he may be flattered by his current mark (72), there is no reason why he can't go well at this level. Ella's Wish will need to find improvement for the step up in trip if she is to figure, but this half-sister to dual 10-furlong winner Foodbroker Fancy will be blinkered for the first-time and is one to keep an eye on. Lebenstanz is an interesting newcomer from the Bedford Lodge stables of Luca Cumani and the market will probably give the best guide to her chance, but Remembrance has shown he has a little race in him and his course experience should stand him in good stead here.
