Verdict
Mullensgrove is the pick to get back to winning ways at the expense of Simber Hill and Act In Time in the hunter chase. Mullensgrove never got into his stride in the Martell Cognac Fox Hunters' Chase and it was no surprise when he came to grief at the eighth fence. He is much better than that as he proved the time before here when beating Phoenix Flyer. That was over two miles but the ten-year-old does stay every yard of today's trip and more, having also been successful here over three and a quarter miles at the beginning of March. He gets the call over Simber Hill, a winner off a mark of 115 in his time and who now makes his debut in hunter chase company. He can give the selection most to do along with Act In Time who posted a fair second to Tales Of Bounty at Sandown. Tom George's veteran is on the downgrade now but may be capable of picking up one or two of these type of events. Not today though, as Mullensgrove will be a tough nut to crack.
