In depth
Verdict
Smart Savannah can defy topweight to land a hat-trick in the finale, with Forever Dream and Hors La Loi the principal dangers. Colin Tinkler has quickly made his mark since rejoining the training ranks, and Smart Savannah has contributed to the stable's haul with back-to-back victories at Stratford and here at Ludlow. That latest victory was made all the easier when the favourite Your Advantage ran out but that was still a good effort and he has more to offer. Forever Dream goes well right-handed and there was a lot to like about his win over Ben Ewar at Wincanton. As for Hors La Loi, he has had a break since making a winning start over fences at Stratford in October, and although expected to need the run, can figure somewhere along the line. Saafend Rocket is a course and distance scorer but has gone off the boil of late and for the winner we return to Smart Savannah.
