Verdict

Bold Marc gets the narrow vote in this maiden stakes to open the card, with Forfeiter and Favouring the others for the shortlist. The selection showed plenty of pace before running out of steam on his debut behind Tara Tara. He looked to be in need of the run on that day in what looked a decent maiden at Newcastle, so with more improvement likely he is put forward as the one to beat. Forfeiter is a well-bred colt who will be interesting if the market vibes are positive, just like Favouring who hails from a yard that is more than capable of readying a first time out 2-year-old winner. Of the rest, Brut was slowly away and ran very green on his debut behind Dario Gee Gee at Doncaster, so he will have to improve to make the frame. The market should always be monitored for clues in these type of events, but Bold Marc has racecourse experience and solid enough form and is difficult to oppose.
