A poor turn out for the money on offer but it still promises to be a tightly run affair all the same. Runners from the David Loder camp have not really caught the imagination this term and although Dublin makes plenty of appeal on his pedigree, (he is a half-brother to Italian Oaks winner Valley Of Gold), he was only workmanlike on his debut in a moderate event at Wolverhampton. He is sure to have come on for the run and the presence of Frankie Dettori will ensure that he is well supported. But he is not one to take too short a price about even in a small field like this. Big Smoke has plenty of speed in his background but shapes as if this sort of trip will be his optimum. His stable has a fair strike-rate with it's juveniles and he should give a good account of himself. Mark Of Zorro made good use of his newcomers allowance at Kempton on his debut but still quickened up nicely when asked to go and win his race. He should have come on for the run and makes plenty of appeal on this step up in trip. However, the experience of Roskilde could prove to be a decisive factor here and he just receives the nod. He encountered his ground for the first time when scoring at Redcar last time and may just hold too much of a finishing kick for his lesser-raced rivals. Tip Topper looks to be the only one of the field who may struggle on what he has shown so far.
