In depth

Verdict

Captain Royale takes a big drop in class having contested the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at The Curragh last time and looks favourably well treated judged by that off a mark of just 84 today so Jeremy Noseda's colt is taken to give weight away all round, getting the vote ahead of Chatham Islands and We Have A Dream. The last mentioned has shown progressive form, including in nurseries and is set to go up 3lbs in future handicaps from this weekend so has to be respected. River Bounty was good value for her recent success at Haydock on what was her turf debut and has to be respected, as does Richard Hannon's Party In The Park who is better than he showed when last seen in the Windsor Castle two months ago. Fathsta looks to be going the right way but faces no easy task having been raised 7lbs for his win at Chester last time and a bigger threat is likely to come from the progressive Chatham Islands. Captain Royale has solid claims though and is set to take advantage of what looks a decent mark, especially as he is set to go up 6lbs in future handicaps.
