Verdict
A maiden race to close the card, so watch the betting for clues but, in the tipping Tomfoolery that accompanies this race, our particular Jeremy Beadle is Borders Music, with the Matthew Kellys of the race identified as Planters Punch, Ragged Jack, Salford City, Vaughan, Goodwood Finesse and Moonlight Tango. The selection is trained locally by Andrew Balding, hails from a family his father knows well and ran with a great deal of promise on his debut at Pontefract to warrant serious respect here. A son of Cape Cross, Planters Punch should be better than he showed on his debut, while Ragged Jack, a son of the same sire, showed plenty of promise on his debut. Salford City is related to good winners. Vaughan is a well-bred son of Machiavellian, while Moonlight Tango showed plenty of promise on her debut here and is extremely well bred. Of the others, Lomaparnar improved to run very well on his second run but, having staying blood in her veins, might find one or two too sharp. Overall, then, we are siding with Border Music.
