Verdict

Bad Beat has run some reasonable races since opening his account in a Southwell maiden in March but Vince Smith's colt may have to settle for minor honours behind Awinnersgame, who gets the vote with Arabian Flame rated the pick of the remainder. The selection sets a good standard for the others to aim at here having put up a decent effort when opening his account in a Haydock maiden prior to fair efforts in the Coventry Stakes and subsequently when a close third behind Doctor Crane in a conditions race at Newbury. A reproduction of that last effort may well suffice. Sir Michael Stoute's Mirrored disappointed on his Yarmouth debut and may well be better than he showed that day but is hard to back with confidence, while a market move for the newcomer Andean Margin would be of interest. Mick Channon's Arabian Flame should improve for his Newbury debut and has to be considered but it is hard to get away from Awinnersgame, who gets the vote.
