Verdict

A tricky maiden in which the market may prove a good guide, with so many runners from the big stables. With Jeremy Noseda's juveniles in particularly fine form it may pay to take a chance that Fiddlers Ford will make a winning debut. The son of Sadler's Wells is a half-brother to Owington and the booking of Pat Eddery catches the eye. He will be expected to make a bold show, as will the likes of Mutawassel and Moscow Blue. Of those to have raced already, Brian Meehan's Master David appeals the most. He was most unlucky in running over six furlongs here on his racecourse introduction, being carried right as he unleashed his effort against the eventual winner and favourite, Oman Gulf. On breeding the step up in trip can only be in his favour and he will be in the shake-up. He will also be pretty short in the betting as well however, and with that in mind, Fiddlers Ford is taken to go in first time before going on to better things.
