Verdict

Chaleur sets the standard but the combination of topweight and an absence of nearly 300 days makes life demanding, although it will be interesting to see how strong market support is for her. Model Guest, turned over at odds-on earlier this week, returns to the fray quickly with cheekpieces added and will be a leading player if repeating her fifth place finish at Royal Ascot on her previous start. I Am Magical looks on a fair mark whilst Salayel is impossible to assess on this first start for Roger Varian having done all her racing at Jebel Ali this year. The market should provide the best guide to her chance. The choice is FLAREPATH who came up against a useful sort on reappearance, inhabits a reasonable mark on handicap debut and seems a definite improver for William Haggas after just three starts.
