In depth

Verdict

This presents Habanero with another good chance to increase his haul from what has already been an already profitable season for him; possibly at the main expense of the unexposed Cashbar and Dumnoni, who head the list of dangers. Whereas Best Desert appeals as the more favoured of the John Best-trained duo and a move for him could reap a small dividend for each-way players. Cashbar won a firm ground maiden at Nottingham in good style last time and has to be respected. However, the runner up did very little for the form when he raced at Redcar and it may be dangerous to read too much into that run. Dumnoni is a consistent sort and should again run her race. She has been held off this mark in the past though and needs to post an improved display to come out on top here. Which brings us back to Habanero, who responded well for Ryan Moore at Epsom. A line through Pickle gives the Cadeaux Genereux colt a slender advantage at the weights today and, with Richard Hannon in flying form at present, Habanero has too much in his favour to ignore in the finale.
