Verdict
Try as you might it is hard to ignore the 340,000 euros purchase price of Emirates Gold, who will no doubt be expected to deliver for Godolphin at the first time of asking. Asset and Bronzed are fancied to give the son of Royal applause the most to do. Bronzed had a number of entries this week and is obviously ready to race. He has plenty of speed on the dam's side of his pedigree and can only benefit from the experience. Asset also catches the eye on breeding and can be placed to good effect as he gains in experience. However, nothing makes more appeal than Emirates Gold, whose half-sister Yaria boosted her paddocks value by getting her season off to a flyer over in Ireland recently. Admittedly, Emirates Gold is unlikely to be one of the best Godolphin-owned two-year-olds to be seen out this season. Still, he is hard to ignore today and is fully expected to take all the beating.
