In depth

Verdict

There are plenty in with chances here but the vote goes to Call Me Max. Call Me Max is progressive and the handicapper might not have caught up with him despite the fact he comes here seeking a third-straight win. AAll rightMy Son has dropped to a handy mark based on last year's form, and acts on soft, while Marajuana has always been well-regarded at home and should have better to come. Clara Bow is likely to like the prevailing going and, with her form rating as solid anyway, should give a very good account of herself. My Princess has been raised two pounds for beating Zayn Zen a head here over a mile last time, and we rate that as solid form, so she is respected. Dancing Rose is also on the up and a four-pounds rise for a course and distance win still makes her competitive, we feel. Given that Cross My Mind's Wolverhampton conqueror, Zowington, has been narrowly beaten from a mark of 80 since, then the Cape Cross gelding can be given a chance. Game Lad is consistent but the handicapper might have him at present in terms of winning, while Sir Michael Stoute's all-weather winner King's Majesty and Sandown scorer Mutajammel have to be considered. Beaver Patrol has now been given a chance by the grader, while Mineral Star is another one on the up and Postgraduate will love the going. As we say, it's tricky, but we will side with Call Me Max.
