Verdict
Roger Charlton has his Beckhampton team in excellent order at present and can maintain the momentum with Trade Fair while Meshaheer, King Of Happiness and Battle Chant are others to consider. The selection went in to winter quarters as a leading Guineas contender after finishing a close third in the Dewhurst but was forced to sidestep the first colts' Classic after suffering from a broken blood vessell in the spring. However, the son of Zafonic made a pleasing belated return earlier in the month when making all to land a Listed contest over this trip on the Rowley Mile course and the form was given a huge boost when runner-up Membership landed the Group 3 Jersey Stakes next time. Meshaheer was a Pattern winner on this course as a juvenile and also landed a competitive Listed event over this trip at Newbury last year but has been giving the impression that this trip is just on the sharp side for him nowadays. King Of Happiness has been a little disappointing since landing the Group 3 Craven Stakes last year but showed a little more sparkle last time at Epsom and should confirm the placings with Battle Chant, who along with Polar Ben, may require more cut in the ground so Trade Fair looks the pick.
