Verdict
The most competitive race on the card rounds off proceedings and many would have chances on their best form but the main protagonists appear to be Fabrezan, Xaipete and Sovereign and we will take a chance on Xaipete. The gelding from the Richard Guest yard was a fair third over an inadequate trip behind Ambry last time out and with the step up in trip sure to suit he will be hard to beat. Fabrezan rates the main danger he won well last time out when defeating Slyboots last time out but he will find this tougher under his penalty. Sovereign is another worthy of respect but he ran as if in the handicappers grip when third last time out. Of the remainder Sam Rocket has dropped to a good mark but his best form of late has been over much longer trips so we are happy to stick with Xaipete.
