Verdict

Sally¿s Dilemma won the Brocklesby in fine style on her debut and is expected to follow up here. She¿s A Shaw thing has to be respected, while Lady Kingston and Mr Clearview are both sure to benefit from the experience. Mr Clearview is related to several useful sprinters and, as his trainer has done well with the progeny of Makbul in the past, Rod Millman¿s colt is very much one to keep on the right side as he gains in experience. Lady Kingston also has a likeable pedigree and can be placed to good effect. However, she obviously lacks the experience of the likely market leaders and may have to settle for an educational day out. By all accounts She¿s A Shaw Thing already has the air of an accomplished performer and her wide margin success at Warwick was not such a surprise to her connections. She faces a stiffer test against the selection today but is the obvious alternative. However, Sally¿s Dilemma showed great battling qualities when scoring at Town Moor and, as her owner, Mick Easterby, rates her as a contender for the Queen Mary Stakes, the daughter of Primo Valentino would have to land a race like this if she is going to be a serious candidate for Royal Ascot.
