    Verdict

    Brittleton, an improved performer over a distance of ground during his progressive three-year-old career, is also entered at Ascot on Friday evening but will need to be strongly considered should the Aqlaam gelding turn up here instead. Always Resolute may be 4lb out of the handicap but he's fit from hurdling and cannot be disregarded but if GOLDSLINGER can come back to the level at which he concluded last season, when a dramatic improver, he could be the one to beat off a mark of 78. Doesyourdogbite is hard to assess on just this second start outside France but he didn't run at all badly at Windsor last month and needs keeping on the right side. Course and distance winner Winter Spice, reliable and consistent, completes the short-list.
