    Verdict

A competitive handicap closes the card and it can see Milk And Sultana win again, but Cryfield, Wren Lane and Incroyable were all given serious consideration. The selection comes here seeking a straight hat-trick of wins but, given that the first of them came in an amateurs' event, is only three-pounds higher in the ratings now than when the sequence began. As such, he remains competitive. Cryfield rates an obvious danger given that he has won from a five-pound higher mark, albeit back in September 2002. Also, he ran better than it first seemed at Carlisle last time over an inadequate trip. Expect better today. Jake Blake was behind the selection last time but is probably better judged on his apprentice handicap win from today's mark the time before. To be fair, most of the others have something to prove, particularly on turf, although Jomus put in a good effort at Chepstow last time and could make the frame. Also, Wren Lane caught the eye at York last time and could have improvement to come over this longer trip. Incroyable was also very much an eyecatcher when stepped up to today's trip at Newcastle last time and she too has to be afforded respect. After a bit of headscratching, though, for the selection, a horse called Milk And Sultana trained by a man called Ham was too appetising a tip for this bread and butter punter to resist!
