In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap and we will take a chance with Kennington, Holiday Cocktail and Summer Recluse could provide most danger. The selection gained a deserved success at Redcar last time, making all to beat today's rival Summer Recluse in game fashion. The runner up is weighted to gain revenge this afternoon, but Kennington proved on that occasion he is a very hard horse to pass and may just hold on once again. Holiday Cocktail is relatively lightly raced and appears to be improving with each run. He gets in here on a very fair mark for his handicap debut and should be vying for some place money. Down at the foot of the handicap Val de Maal is another worth considering for each-way purposes, but Kennington did everything right last time and with similar tactics another victory looks on the cards.
