In depth

Verdict

Quite an intriguing handicap chase in which several have claims. Among those worthy of a mention is the in form Extra Proud who dotted up at Stratford last time. An 11lb rise in the weights looks fair for that win but this is a tougher contest. Topweight Nosam is better than he has shown in two two starts this term but may have had his confidence knocked by a hefty fall on his reappearance. Glinger looks to be progressing along the right lines but is still yet to win a race, while Lightning Quest is another with more improvement to come. They do though all have it to do to beat the Len Lungo-trained Charlieadams who is a confident TEAMtalk selection. The former hunter has been a revelation since joining his current trainer and judged by those two wins the gelding still looks to be ahead of the handicapper.
