      Verdict

      Master Richard won two York handicaps last summer though both were on fast ground. Western Stars won here in June though didn't make the expected progress but THE COOKSTOWN CAFU scored on this sort of ground here in October. Kevin Ryan's charge reappeared to make all in a higher-grade handicap at Redcar last month and will take some beating in that kind of form. Vaccine had been running well on Tapeta before beaten a length in a big field here last week when Strongbowe was behind though the latter was returning from a long break. Solar Joe was an easy winner on fast going here last July.
