        Verdict

        High numbers usually fare best in these sprints, and Snow Bunting is taken to confirm the promise of his two recent efforts to land the spoils here, with True Night, Undeterred and Absent Friends also on the shortlist. Absent Friends was a length behind Salviati when fourth at Musselburgh on his penultimate start and although he was disappointing at York next time that was a hot race, and he is fancied to reverse the form on three pounds better terms with his good draw here. David Nicholls has saddled four in this race, and of most interest is True Night, who has slipped to a very favourable mark after a couple of very tender rides in his last two starts, although he almost certainly needs a longer trip to show his best. Undeterred fared reasonably well in a big field at Goodwood last time, and with the stable in good form is likely to go close from stall 13, but Snow Bunting is just preferred. Second in a big field at Doncaster a couple of starts ago, he followed that with a never nearer fourth at Pontefract last time. Snow Bunting goes well for Leanne Kershaw and is fancied to swoop late to land this.
