Verdict
The two last time out winners should battle out this weak finale, and Ardent Lady is just preferred to Acomb. The latter was a shock winner over seven furlongs here recently, scraping home by a short head from Tiber Tiger. She made all on that occasion and although the extra distance is unlikely to trouble her here, she is still out of the handicap proper, so for that reason Ardent Lady is just preferred. Ed Dunlop's filly also scored for the first time when stepping up to this trip at Carlisle on her latest start. It was a pretty smooth victory, as she was only pushed out to score by two lengths and this does not look any harder today. She could easily improve a good deal, and is fancied to defy a five pound rise in the weights here and land the double.
