Paul Midgley's Polish World is bound to be popular with backers as he attempts to win his fourth race on the bounce but a 7lb rise since his latest short-head defeat of Pretty Orchid at Beverley makes doing so a tough assignment and a better bet may be CLASSIC DESCENT, who gets the verdict over Celtic Step. Peter Niven's gelding regained the lead close home when successful at Southwell last month and he has to be respected off just a 3lb higher mark today back on turf but he is seemingly better on the artificial surfaces these days. Richard Guest's King of The Moors ran better at Warwick last time behind Dr Wintringham but he needs to improve again to trouble the judge and of more interest may be Kevin Ryan's Wovoka, who has been given a chance by the handicapper and should appreciate the fast ground. The vote though goes the way of Ruth Carr's Classic Descent, who has shown improved form for his in-form stable of late and a reproduction of the form shown when narrowly beaten by Ting Ting at Redcar two starts ago may well suffice.
