Verdict
Futoo will handle these conditions well and can take this handicap from Cayman Calypso and Savannah River. The selection performs well over this 10 furlongs and has shown decent form with cut in the ground, having won on good to soft at both Catterick and Beverley, the latter over this trip. Admittedly, he does have the look of a horse whose measure may now have been taken by the handicapper, having been beaten off this mark on his last two starts. However, he has run well enough on those occasions, and with the ground slowing the others down he may well have enough to take this. Cayman Calypso steps up in trip again here and has to prove he truly gets further than a mile. If he could reproduce the sort of form that saw him beaten just a head at Beverley last time over this extra quarter-of-a-mile then he would have a good chance, but we think he is best watched this time. Of the remainder, Savannah River has shown her best form with cut in the ground, and with conditions to her liking she must come into calculations. However, she does look moderate and also needs to prove she can drop back to 10 furlongs from going a fair bit further, so again she is passed over in favour of the selection, Futoo.
