In depth

Verdict

In a race which may not take a great deal of winning, Lady Luisa is fancied to get off the mark at the third time of asking, with Briannsta and Moon Forest the likeliest dangers. the latter is a newcomer from the Peter Chapple-Hyam stable which has done exceptionally well with its juveniles this year and, while this Woodborough colt was fairly cheaply bought he has to be respected, particularly if the market speaks in his favour. Briannsta has improved with every run so far, most recently finishing a decent second to the useful Innocent Splendour at Folkestone. That form reads very well in the context of this race and Mick Channon's colt seems sure to go close. But we'd like to take a chance on Stan Moore's Lady Luisa. She was slowly away and always behind on her debut at Lingfield last month, but fared much better when fifth in a valuable conditions stakes at Ascot last time. This is a drop in class for her and Lady Luisa is fancied to go well here at what should be a decent price.
