Verdict
If his official rating is anything to go by then PORTO SANTANA looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark at these weights by trainer 'Dandy' Nicholls, while Pintano and Head To Head may prove the dangers. Nicholls has only had Porto Santana in for one run so far, when last of 13 in a 5f Beverley handicap. He was eased that day after appearing to have lost his action, but we presume all is now well. Trip and ground suit and the application of first-time headgear means he gets the nod. Pintano went well in first time blinkers over a mile at Thirsk last time but the hoods are left off here and strictly on the book he has 10lb to find with the selection. He has shown some toe in the past and may still prove a threat. Head To Head was runner up in a Catterick claimer earlier in the month and may make the frame again, while Missus Molly Brown has not been seen since running second here in June to the much improved Jaconet, and if she can show more this time then she can get involved in the shake-up. Little else appeals and we'll take Porto Santana in the seller.
