The first nursery of the season takes place at Salisbury this evening and can go to Mick Channon with Scotch N'Dry, ahead of Love Triangle and Silent Revenge. Channon saddled the beaten favourite Nahy who finished second last year, and will be optimistic that Scotch N'Dry can prove the best of his three runners. The son of Piccolo gets a mark of 75 after three promising efforts, and the step down from seven furlongs will not be a problem as he had previously shaped well over six on his first two outings. Stablemates Cheverak Forest and Futoo are no slouches either, the former already a winner, while Love Triangle has also posted one or two notable efforts but has it to do off topweight. Richard Hannon saddled the third in this last year and has decided to let both of his five-day entries stand their ground. Richard Hughes rides Micky Thin, while Dane O'Neill gets the leg up on Silent Revenge, both already successful in their first season. The latter had to switch to the all-weather at Wolverhampton though to oblige and Micky Thin won a weak affair at Brighton. Improvement is the key at this time of year as well, so two or three of the others are entitled to be involved in the shake-up. However, we return to Scotch N'Dry as our idea of the first nursery winner of the season.
