Verdict

Richard Hannon's Forward Move only went down by a short head on his Kempton debut earlier this month and has to be respected but more solid claims on form are probably held by Salinja, who gets the vote over Palatinate. The last mentioned showed improved form at Newmarket last month but would probably prefer a softer surface. A similar comment probably applies to David Elsworth's Wotchalike who has run with credit in both starts so far but may again find things happening too quickly for him. Marcus Tregoning's Zeena showed little sign of ability on her debut but the stable's horses are in better form now so she may step up on that effort today. Nerys Dutfield's horses normally improve with racing so Monad may be a good deal better than is evident so far but, in a poor race, Salinja gets the vote. Amanda Perrett's colt lost no caste in defeat on his Newmarket debut in a better race than this and with the stable's youngsters normally better on their second start improvement can be anticipated from the son of Boundary.
