Verdict
This doesn’t look the strongest of nurseries with Uncle Jerry and Camachess producing their best efforts to date on the all-weather. Smile A Mile appears to lack an extra gear so might enjoy the extra furlong but Steeve will need to settle better than at Goodwood last time when he never looked likely to trouble the first two. Even Keel shouldn’t be far away having got off the mark at Newbury but does have 5lb more to carry here. Handicap debutant Reconnaissance is preferred to Big Boots on these terms but BARRISTAN THE BOLD was an eye-catcher in a better race that this at Goodwood a month ago and can defy top weight.
