        Verdict

        Sound That Alarm, beaten a whisker on his debut, can go one better here at the expense of Agent Kensington, Pitch Up and Homme Dangereux. After a very slow start to the campaign, trainer Gerard Butler is finally starting to send out the winners, and Sound That Alarm should add to the tally judged on his effort at Chester where he was denied a short-head by the more experienced Bold Minstrel. The colt, owned by the Cheveley Park Stud, is entered for a couple of expensive juvenile contests this autumn, and although six furlongs would probably be ideal, he should have improved enough to open his account here. Agent Kensington has kept decent company on his last two starts at Newbury and Nottingham and poses the main threat, while Pitch Up, sixth in a big field at Windsor, has shown enough to suggest that a maiden will come his way soon. Homme Dangereux made his debut on the fibresand at Southwell and has to step up a bit on that, and for the winner, Sound That Alarm fits the bill.
