Verdict

An open contest can go to Rubyanne, with Danehill Willy and Dralion seen as her biggest dangers. Looking at the field. Chairman Rick cost 68,000 guineas but hasn't shown much in two runs but now drops to the minimum trip for the first time. Danehill Willy cost 35,000 guineas, is related to a number of winners and hails from a canny yard, so he has to be afforded respect. Dralion showed promise on his debut here over six furlongs and the form has a fairly solid look to it, while Il Pranzo also showed promise on his first Turf run last time at Windsor. Add in the fact that In Rhubarb has something to like on breeding and Rubyanne is a lot better than her debut finishing position suggests, as she lost a lot of ground at the start, then you have a race in which the market could well prove the best guide to the runners' chances. However, in having to nominate a selection at this point, we give the nod to Rubyanne.
