Verdict

Serre Chevalier made a pleasing debut at Kempton in May and has been found a suitable opportunity to open his account, with Premier Rouge and Minority Report expected to give him most to do. Peter Harris does not have too many first-time winners, so the fact that Serre Chevalier was able to go so close against the favourite Capestar on his Kempton debut suggests that he was well forward. Even so, he is sure to have benefited from a small break and will be a popular choice to go one better. Premier Rouge has also shaped well and his fourth at Haydock gives cause for encouragement. Minority Report was sent off as market leader at Nottingham on the strength of a fair debut third at Chepstow. Luca Cumani's gelding has been sluggish to start on both occasions though and cannot afford to perform like that too often. A further step up in trip may prove the answer for him, while of the rest, Silent Storm, brought wide and given too much to do at Southwell, makes most appeal. None are anything special though, and Serre Chevalier should be up to the task.
