Verdict

This is usually a tough race to predict with 11/2 being the shortest price winner in ten years. Three-year-olds have a poor record which may rule out Exosphere, who disappointed when favourite on soft ground at Ascot. MOUNT LOGAN had been threatening to win a good handicap before doing so at Goodwood where he relished the soft conditions. He's up 5lb but looks to have every chance of completing a double. Flag War has so far only won on all-weather surfaces but hasn't had many chances on Turf and is still on the upgrade. Sennockian Star has won eleven races in his time but was behind the selection at Goodwood and may be a few pounds high. He scored at Chester in June when Elkaayed was behind but the latter wasn't suited by the track and has done much better subsequently, scoring over this trip at Doncaster last time.
