In depth

Verdict

Corrib Drift was held off a 1lb higher mark than today at Market Rasen when last seen and seems a shade high in the weights at present and, on ground that may be too testing for him, he looks worth taking on with preference for Mage d'Estruval who gets the vote over Guilt. The selection was fairly well held on his reappearance last month and in his last two starts in hunter chases last term but Henry Daly's gelding had shown ability prior to that and may well be suited by the drop back in distance today. Eleazar would have claims on the pick of his form but that is on a faster surface, while Hawk's Landing is hard to win with and is probably best watched. Lunar Crystal has struggled since landing a novice chase in June and a bigger threat is likely to come from the ex-Irish Guilt who showed improved form on his second start for Karl Burke when last seen. Mage d'Estruval is hard to evaluate but could be of interest over this trip and he gets the vote.
