Verdict

Climate is chasing the four-timer and gets the nod here ahead of Templet, Mademoiselle, and Prince Dayjur. The selection was impressive when winning a similar contest over course and distance eighteen days ago and off just a 4lb higher mark he should put up another bold show today. He evidently gets on well with jockey Russell Kennemore (3/4 on him), and is taken to complete a four-timer today. Dudley Docker has won around here before but that was over seven furlongs. However he gets this trip just fine and must have solid place claims. Templet is very in-and-out, and he was very much 'out' when he was thrashed in a seller last time out. However this fairly useful dual-performer drops in trip today and should put in an improved performance. Kingsmaite is consistent if unspectacular, whilst of more interest may be Prince Dayjur. He was third in a similar contest at Lingfield last time out and a reproduction of that could see him in the minor money again. However this looks an easy opportunity for Reg Hollinshead's Climate to go in again.
