Verdict
David Nicholls plays a strong hand with Native Title and Blackheath both expected to give a good account of themselves - the latter usually needs a couple of outings to put him straight so Native Title gets the vote on this occasion. Out of the rest: Quiet Times and Mistral Sky may give him the most to do. Mistral Sky is better over slightly further but goes well for Micky Fenton. And, granted a strong pace, he would be capable causing a minor upset. The eight-year-old has found life tough in handicaps lately, so may appreciate this ease in grade. Quiet Times is consistent and has given his connections plenty of fun over the years. He was not beaten far by Nicholls' stalwart Bahamian Pirate 10 days ago and a similar performance would make him hard to beat today. However, jockey, Paul Hanagan, seems to drag the best out of Native Title and his presence in the saddle is a big clue towards the expectations held by the yard today. The partnership landed the valuable Vodafone Stakes together several years ago and it has to be of interest that they are paired off for this modest prize today.
