Verdict
It is doubtful that there will be any superstars on show in this maiden, however it looks a good opportunity for Mark Johnston's newcomer Ammeyrr to score on his debut, with the exposed Moon Empress and Smart Cat the dangers. The selection has a good pedigree (brother to 1,000 Guineas winner Ameerat), and his trainer looks to have found a weak race for his debut. He gets weight from the whole field and must have strong claims if sharp enough first time out. Chart Oak didn't show any improvement when last tried at this trip so is opposed, along with Poseidon's Secret who would need to step up on his last run at Kempton. Moon Empress brings the best form to the race but is starting to look like a professional loser (winless in 7) so is taken to find at least one too good again. Triel is an interesting newcomer from the Dandy Nicholls' stable and should be watched in the market, however we will return to the other newcomer, Ammeyrr, to make his debut a winning one.
