In depth

Verdict

The top pair are penalised for their Flat victories though both are only rated in the 60's. Batalha had shown nothing before a better effort behind the long odds-on Persia at Bellewstown last weekend with Figurehead a couple of lengths behind. Knight Of Malta looked a likely future winner when runner-up at Gowran in March but he disappointed until a better run at Wexford last month. Loved Out was heavily supported when a close second in a Punchestown maiden in November and a recent run on the Flat should have put him spot-on while Hurricane Georgie will have learnt plenty from his debut at Listowel. RED BALL OF FIRE has performed with credit in both starts over timber and looks ready to land an ordinary maiden such as this. Duncannon Power was engaged in the 5.10 at Navan yesterday.
