Verdict
The evergreen Captain Lars is sure to be popular as he just keeps rolling along and now tackles the 98th race of his career. He seems sure to be in the mix but is taken on with THE GREAT WALL. Mick Appleby's charge ran no sort of race last time but that was nowhere close to his real capabilities and his previous two runs over course and distance put him in here with strong claims. Mr Buttons is a course winner and, although it's early in the season for a three-year-old to tackle his elders, course knowledge and the possibility of further progression after five starts brings him into contention. Course and distance winner Mujassam is also worthy of consideration.
