Verdict
Loughlorien has an obvious chance on the evidence of recent turf form but has yet to show a similar level of ability on the all-weather and a safer bet may be Davids Mark, who is preferred to Molotov. The last mentioned won at Wolverhampton when Dunstall Park had a Fibresand surface so he should go well enough round here and it is interesting that the four-year-old is reunited with Natalie Gemelova this afternoon. Kieren Fallon has been booked for Knead The Dough but he has yet to win a race and is hard to back with confidence despite the presence of the former champion jockey. Torrent has claims on his best and has slipped to a fair mark but recent form gives little cause for a return to winning ways. Glencairn Star won a banded stakes race at Wolverhampton last week but is likely to find this tougher and a better bet looks to be Davids Mark. The John Jenkins-trained gelding has shown enough when placed in his last two starts to suggest that a race of this nature would be well within his compass and he is taken to gain due reward for his consistency today.
