Verdict
Kensington is the pick in a very tricky opener, Glencairn Star and Sharp Hat could be the main dangers. This son of Cape Cross has had a relatively successful turf campaign, and landed a modest contest at Ripon in September. His two recent all-weather outings and Lingfield and Wolverhampton were most encouraging and if he handles this different surface he will be hard to beat. Sharp Hat has raced 23 since winning at Wolverhampton last November without managing to get on the scoreboard. He ran well at Wolverhampton last time and his day will come soon but he could have to settle for place money today. Glencairn Star was the surprise winner of a banded event at Wolverhampton on his all-weather debut last week and should go close from a fair handicap mark. Polar Haze is returning to form and is also worthy of a mention, but Kensington appears more reliable than most of these and is taken to land the spoils.
