In depth

Verdict

Almost all of these are track winners with Bond Angel and Custard The Dragon each having won eight times here. The latter had been threatening to win for some time before easily landing a Class 6 handicap last month but the former beat him on his previous start and there doesn't look an obvious reason for a form reversal. Equidae and Katheefa have both won five times here and the former holds a recent verdict over the latter but a chance is taken with ERICH BLOCH, who has his first start here. Three times a winner on Turf, he reappeared after a long absence with a fair run on his all-weather debut at Newcastle and Ben Sanderson's claim is a plus. The in-form Defence Treaty, the consistent Legal Reform and all-weather debutant Soaring Star are others worth noting in a competitive affair.
