Verdict
Skycab has been done no favours by the raising of the weights, but he is a big horse, who should have no trouble lumping top weight around. The winner of this race back in 2000, he is actually 1lb lower this year and with no worries about the ground, he looks the one to beat. Trouble Ahead is gradually slipping down the handicap and is now 5lbs lower than when last successful. Richard Guest had two in this at the five day stage, but relies on Xaipete. Although 11 now, he is still capable when the mood takes him, but he may find this a shade more competitive than he cares for. Harik is in the form of his life and while he will love the ground, he looks to have plenty on off a career high mark. Souer Fontenail may find these a bit too classy for her, while there is a suspicion that Arctic Challenge may be better going the other way around, while Damushas yet to prove he stays this far.
