Verdict
Another less than competitive event and Mounsey Castle is take to outclass his rivals. The winner of a bumper on fast ground, he didn't take long to get the hang of hurdling, finishing runner-up twice, before landing the odds at Hereford. This step up in trip will be in his favour and he is taken to dispose of some moderate rivals. Circle Of Wolves has looked a real monkey of late, having shown promise at Warwick before Christmas, so it may be left to Sundawn Lady to chase the selection home. The latter can be expected to have improved from her debut over hurdles last month, where she had the promising Southdown House eight-lengths away in third. The locally trained Cedar was the subject of some support on his debut at Southwell, but he didn't get any further than the third flight. If the market speaks in his favour, he would be one to keep an eye on.
