Verdict
Macnance gets a tentative vote in a difficult opener to the day's proceedings. Richard Lee's mare has the best form on offer with a well deserved first success sandwiched between two fine seconds behind useful types. Provided she is none the worse for unseating her rider in the mares' only final last time, the daughter of Mandalus should be good enough to give weight away all round. Their are some interesting opponents among the 12-strong field. Among the most interesting of them are the Ian Williams-trained Batman Senora and Paul Webber's Maiden Voyage. The former makes his debut in this country but has shown respectable form over hurdles in France, while the latter has lost no caste in defeat in her last three starts but is beginning to look exposed at this level. The Venetia Williams-trained Jabo Origny looks the pick of the remainder but needs to improve on all known form to trouble the selection.
